Why Do We Honor People?

Why Do We Honor People?

Most all of us have special people in our lives who have made a difference.  We have a desire to honor them, tribute them, thank them, and remember them.  In this article we are going to help you identify the special people in your life who are deserving of honor and tribute and we will show you how to honor those people.

In prior blog articles we have covered various types of people and situations deserving of honor and thanks.  We have reviewed the honors on To Honor Them and have enjoyed the diversity of honors.  Its clear to us that all of us are impacted by special people at different times in our lives!

Sentimental and warm feelings and thoughts about people who have helped us, shaped us, and taught us, can flood our minds with a desire to express our gratitude at times- this is absolutely normal and healthy.  To write a thank you card, a note of honor, or to honor someone with a tribute is a great expression of those deep feelings we hold about important people in our lives.  We experience life and experience family and friendships in a deeper way when we share what people mean to us.  There is absolutely a therapeutic effect when we honor someone.  The worst thing to do is wait.  Some people have an easier time expressing thanks, honor, appreciation, gratitude, memories, and tribute however we must all take the time - and the "risk" to do this.  To honor someone you may have to look people up- for example an old teacher, coach, counselor, or pastor from your past.  What an adventure this will be however- and how rewarding for both you and them!

We honor people because they deserve it and we can't escape the desire we have within to share honor, thanks, and tribute with those who make a difference in our lives.  Honor someone today!

Honor must be shared!
